Emergency phone numbers
Gardai/Ambulance/Fire Brigade/Mountain Rescue/Coast Guard: 999 or 112 (note: 112 works from any phone in any EU country)
The emergency services operator will ask you which service you require. They will also ask you for the following:
The address of the incident or emergency and/or any noticeable landmarks nearby (including Eir code). Directions to the location of the emergency. The telephone number you are calling from. Details of the incident itself, the number of people involved, the description, any visible injuries and knowledge of any pre-existing medical conditions. Try to stay calm and listen to the operator’s instructions. It is also important to keep your own phone on as the emergency service may need to contact you for more information.

Gas: (for leaks or if you smell gas) call Gas Networks Ireland on 1800 20 50 50 (no matter who your supplier is)
Ensure gas appliances are turned off and have not been left on and unlit
Don’t smoke, vape or use a naked flame
Don’t unplug or switch anything electrical on or off
Open windows and doors
If the smell persists turn off the gas at the meter
If you can’t get through on the Gas Networks Ireland emergency number, dial 999 / 112
Don’t use a phone in the immediate area of the leak, use a neighbour’s or call from outside.
