Our advice is to stay calm. Whilst panic and anxiety for some is unavoidable and understandable, it is important for at least one person to have a plan in place and, if necessary, essential supplies stored. This confidence may even provide peace of mind to those who are vulnerable and dependent. If however you live alone and find that you struggle under such circumstances remember...that's ok. A lot of people are in the same boat. Keep a list of friends and family you can rely on for support and company. Do not be afraid to reach out and ask for help.
Create a plan for your household in case of an emergency, whether it's a storm with power and water cuts, flooding, fire or a gas leak. Don't depend on services and utilities remaining available.
